Jeep Scrambler
Jeep Scrambler
Explained...
I like to drive any types of Jeep and even more when it is out
off the beaten path. Makes me smile actually when I see a nice
Jeep Scrambler in the
city all nice clean and shiny. I like my Jeep Scrambler dirty and
full of scratches. Off road trail riding has been a very popular
sport for many years. There are several Jeep clubs and forums
devoted to this pastime. Off road trail riding has evolved into a
family affair over the years. It is not uncommon to find a family
of four airing down the tires of their Jeep for a trail ride. One
of the more popular vehicles to take off road is the
Jeep Scrambler
because it offers a design that is narrow for tight trails
and still roomy enough to bring along the kids.
Do you know that the Jeep Scrambler was sold as
a limited edition from1981 to 1986? It had more cargo space as
compared to the other vehicles in its class at that time. The
vehicle offered the option of a hard top or soft top. The
JeepScrambler is actually a sort of pickup truck that was
revamped. Very nice to own.
This Jeep has a small bed behind the cab and there is commonly
only room for two in the cab itself. The bed allows for good
storage space. The driver can tie down gear that he brings along on
the trip in the bed and there will still be room for the ever
useful spare tire. Don't leave home without it.
The Jeep Scrambler became desirable because of its cross between
a Jeep and a pickup truck. One of the first modifications to an off
road vehicle is to mount proper tires. The size depends on the lift
of the vehicle. The tread depends on if the vehicle will be used
for mudding, trail rides or rock climbing.
Did you know that installing lockers is very useful and locking
up both the front and rear helps the Jeep traction? You could lock
up both or either the front or rear. Installing a wench mount and a
high capacity wench cable is useful for pulling yourself or others
out of trouble. I used that function many times and I can tell you
that it is a must for the serious off road driver.
The more advanced off road drivers will invest in a roll cage.
Even a JeepScrambler can topple over. A well built roll
cage will protect the driver and passengers from sustaining injury
during the rollover. Your insurance company will love it too.
Jeep Scrambler - eBay or Online Car
Auction?
The Jeep Scrambler
actually did not sell very well and the style was discontinued in
1986. However, people began to take an interest in the
Jeep Scrambler
in the early 1990’s. These vehicles became a hot commodity
because only about 27,000 were built. I would call it limited
edition.
The limited number made the JeepScrambler a well
sought-after item that many were trying to find. Many individuals
in the market were interested in using these Jeeps for off road
trail riding. Hard core avid trail riders inevitably modify the
Jeep Scrambler for better performance off road even though
it is a difficult vehicle to find.
My friend told me that he found his Jeep Scrambler not on eBay
cars, even after looking for months on eBay, but he found
it at a car auction. Who would have tought? I don't know if he
got just lucky but he was quick on the buy button when he saw
that Jeep Scrambler on the online car
auction... Next time I will be looking for a
vintage or almost vintage car or even a truck I will check eBay AND
the onlinecarauction that is for
sure.
